HUNTING, FISHING, OR TRAPPING REQUESTS
Hunting, fishing, or trapping requests will be taken annually in the month of February. All hunting, fishing, or trapping requests must be received in the month of February via USPS with an accompanying postmark. Decisions / drawings will be made the first Executive Board meeting following the last day of February. This is typically in the month of March.
A follow-up harvest form must be filled out after the permitted visit to maintain harvest and management records for the respective areas.
Those properties to which OVCC is opening to public permits for hunting, trapping, and fishing must be specific to the date (no more than 2 weeks per application), area, zone, and species.
All rules, regulations, property, and zone boundaries must be adhered to or it may be subject to a minimum immediate requisition of the access permit and up to trespassing or hunting without permission charges being filed. Likewise, future requests will be denied based on in-adherance to the agreed management practices.
All of OVCC's areas are Conservation Preserves where hunting, fishing, and trapping are used as ecological management tools as well as low impact recreational activity.
We welcome all ethical outdoor minded persons to apply to enjoy these natural areas where permitted.
The board has the right to reject any application, without disclosure of reasoning or specific vote details.
Each approved hunting, fishing, or trapping application will be notified via postal mail with the respective permission slip, vehicle permit, and harvest record form. These forms must accompany you and be provided at demand by any Board member or law enforcement. Harvest forms are due within 30 days from final date listed on permission slip.
We welcome the addition of any harvest photos to accompany the harvest form.
